Back from sec 3 camp!! :)
On the following day, the actvities were mainly involved with water so we were constantly wet for the whole day. In the nature training elements, there was activity like the jetty jump and moving down the flow of a shallow river while resting on a tube. I don't want to get myself wet initially but Xin Yi encouraged me since we were bound to get wet so I don't give a damn about keeping myself dry liao. I spent most of the time splashing water wildly at the "victims" flowing along the river to get them drenched thoroughly along with a few others cos it's simply fun. Moving on to the jetty jump, most of us got to attempt the jump into the lake from a jetty twice. We were totally thrilled by the activity and absolutely enjoyed the process. It required a bit of courage to run across the jetty and submerge ourselves into the water but everyone did it. I jumped in with Gee Lam and the water went into my nose but the jump was very shiok. We formed a circle in the lake and sang our cheer. The last water activity was the pelepah waterfall expedition. We had our lunch at the waterfall entrance before setting off and there were many parts of the shallow flow of the river in the trail as we moved along. We took a group picture upon arrival to the waterfall and started splashing water at one another. I think I've gone crazy in splashing at people around me like Luisa, Joanna(she's too dry liao so I'm helping her to bath), Yun Jing, Li Jun, Joan and others I don't know liao. Just wanna splash anyone in sight and I want splash Zhang Hui cos he won't retaliate but splash on YuHong instead. Everyone were like so tired at the end of the day that we kept drifting off to sleep while the instructor talk blah blah blah about the climb on Mount Panti tomorrow.
Third day liao..We moved from our tents to the resort nearby which was so much better with the aircons and clean toilet available as the Riverside Sec needed the campsite so they replaced us. About more than 10 of us shared a room with beds available at the resort. I shared a room with Yun Jing, Amelia,Joanna, Luisa and many others I forgot. Majority of us dedicated our whole day to climbing the Gunung Panti Mount(514m). There were four checkpoints situated in the trek of the mountain which were also a form of encouragement for us campers to move on as we passed by each checkpoint. The starting was quite easy as the slope was almost flat. The real challenge started at around checkpoint two and three where the slope started getting steeper and there were a few fallen trees blocking the path. The boys were carrying the backpack that contain the materials for the outdoor cooking most of the time which weighed about more than 10kg and a few girls helped the boys with their day pack. Checkpoint four was the most tiring part of the expedition as the gradient rised higher. I was very fed up as reaching the last checkpoint took a longer period then reaching the other checkpoints and I had problem reaching for my water bottle while carrying Zhang Hui's bag(Grr...). Most of us were hungry by the time we reached the foot of the summit where we did our outdoor cooking which was just simply some chicken maggie noodles with hotdogs and baked beans. Got to formed a group with 6 others and shared the food with Yun Jing and Li Jun. The leaves and branches were so damp but it's alright since we got the fire burning anyway. Due to the weather condition, only half of the class got to have the chance to climb up all the way up to the summit. Luckily, I was one of those who got the chance and the climb was steep, almost 90 degree, starting from the foot of the summit. Many instructors were situated there to make sure that we could climb safely as it would be fatal should any student miss their step and fall. The climb was worthy as the scenery from the summit was beautiful with countless trees crowding around the mountain till it faded gradually with the clouds getting thicker as the distance grew longer, like thick fog obscuring the view. Li Jun complained to me that climbing back down to the foot of the summit was damn scary cos it's almost vertical and I was a bit of scared too but since others could do it why shouldn't we. Climbing up the mountain was exhausting but climbing back down was tedious as it required us to be more alert. I had almost slip and fall on the damp soil a few times or got tripped by the roots sticking out. Joan was crapping away at how "cool" the way I moved down behind me and we laughed a few times. I felt completely drained so was most of my classmates by the time we were having our campfire and I felt a bit shock at how hyperactive Darlyna was despite the tiring day. I paid little attention to the performances in the campfire cos only some of the classes like 3e3 did a good one and the instructors' gatsby dance were also quite funny. The AIs put in some performance for us and the teachers had also spent some efforts in presenting the pictures they took of us over the few days .
Finally reaching to the last day le.. I never felt better than sleeping in the nice cooling room of the resort in the camp although the sleeping hours were short. We did our morning exercises, ate our breakfast, share about what we have benefited from the camp and finished the prize presentation before departure for Singapore.
